Just a bit of housekeeping about the animation questionnaire. Astonishingly, it's been seven months since I started running the English-language version of my survey. I'm amazed and humbled by the great responses I've been getting from all around the world. I'm also feeling rather sheepish that it's taken me this long to write and post a Japanese version (seriously, I'm a beginner and very, very slow at writing. It's only with the generous assistance of a few friends and profs that I was able to do this at all.)
To balance the length of time each survey runs -so that I don't have over a year's worth of English responses and only half a year's worth of Japanese responses- I'm planning to close the English survey at the end of February and just run the Japanese one until the end of September. I don't want to cut off English speakers, but I need to ensure that they're not over-represented by having more time to respond.
So, if you speak Japanese or know anyone who does, please pass on the new link posted above.
And if you speak English and haven't taken the current survey, now's the time!
For my part, I'll try my best to respond to the answers fairly and thoughtfully. I'm not going to sugar-coat it: the result will most definitely be a thesis, an academic study with academic jargon, concerns, criticisms and whatnot. But I hope it'll at least be a passionate thesis by someone who cares. Thanks, everyone!
